Ventura County Youth@Work

The Youth@Work program seeks to place hundreds of  Ventura County youth in summer work experiences with local private, non-profit and public companies.

  • For Youth and Young Adults (ages 14-24)
  • Program pays wages and employer payroll costs
  • Youth jobs from June 2 – September 30, 2009

Youth@Work
is a practical work skills-building initiative for youth and young adults. The program is funded by the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and administered by the Workforce Investment Board of Ventura County.

This unique program gives our citizens work readiness skill training and work experience. In this tough economy, competition for entry level jobs is greater than ever. Ventura County Youth@Work provides the opportunity to gain valuable work experience that would otherwise be difficult to obtain. Additionally, the program provides the employer the opportunity to prepare our youth for the future.

Employers who are interested in participating will need to be able to provide a meaningful short-term work experience (60 to 192 hours) during the program period.
